Third-party AI providers
What this page is
TalkStash's AI features are powered by AI models run by other companies. When you use them, the content described below is sent to those companies so they can generate a reply. You agree to this when you sign in. This page lists who they are and what they receive.
Who receives your data
- OpenRouter — a routing service. It receives AI requests and passes them on to the companies that run the AI models, which can be the companies that built a model or other companies that host it. Which company handles a request depends on the model and can change, so we do not list them one by one. These companies may be located in different countries or regions. OpenRouter privacy policy
- OpenAI — its GPT models, when a request goes to OpenAI directly. OpenAI privacy policy
- Google — its Gemini models, through the Gemini API, when a request goes to Google directly. Gemini API terms, Google privacy policy
- Anthropic — its Claude models, when a request goes to Anthropic directly. Anthropic privacy policy
A request goes either through OpenRouter or directly to one of the three companies above, not both. How each company keeps your content, and whether it may use API content to improve its own models, is set by that company's own policy and terms. Providers may keep content for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring. For requests that go through OpenRouter, see its privacy policy linked above. This page does not restate those terms.
What is sent
- The message you send and the recent messages of the current conversation.
- A summary of earlier messages in the conversation.
- Your learning preferences, language pair and the tone you chose for Mira.
- Mira's memory about you, when memory is turned on.
- For note and card features, the conversation text or notes you ask TalkStash to work on.
- An identifier for your account and one for the current conversation, each turned into a one-way hash first. They are used for abuse prevention and to keep follow-up replies fast, and a provider cannot work back from them to your account ID.
We do not send your name, email address, payment details or device identifiers.
What is not sent
- Your Apple or Google sign-in details.
- Your purchase and billing details.
- Voice recordings: speech recognition for dictation is handled by your device's operating system, not by these providers.
What we ask you to do
Please do not share sensitive information in your chats, such as passwords, financial account numbers, government ID numbers or health records.
Changes to this list
We may add or replace the companies we send requests to directly, or the routing service. We update this page and the Privacy Policy before a new one receives your data, and the date above changes. The companies behind OpenRouter can change without a change to this page.
Your choices
AI is the core of TalkStash, so the service cannot be used without sending content to these providers. You can stop at any time by deleting your account in the app (Profile → Account → Delete Account & Data). Content already sent to a provider cannot be recalled by us; see each provider's policy for how it is handled.
